Van Lanschot Chabot purchases Mandema & Partners

With 145 employees, Mandema & Partners provide advice and solutions to the business market in relation to risk management, pension issues, and healthcare and absence management. The business will remain active as an independent adviser to medium-sized and corporate enterprises in the Dutch insurance market.

Lando te Molder, the general manager of Van Lanschot Chabot, has this to say: “This acquisition fits in with our strategy and will significantly strengthen our position in the field of risk management and employee benefits in the business sector. The merger of the two companies will produce one of the largest, most powerful consultancies targeting the upper end of the business market. Now we are better positioned to offer specific business sectors comprehensive solutions.”

The acquisition brings 275 professional risk managers and insurance experts together, who are making their in-depth knowledge and experience in the field of risk management available to business clients. The new organisation offers benefits of scale and has a turnover of €40 million. Forces have also been combined for private insurance: specific insurance advice and financial planning for wealthy private individuals, directors-cum-major shareholders, and business and medical professionals.

According to Roland Goldman, the general manager of Mandema & Partners, Van Lanschot Chabot and Mandema & Partners, complement each other: “We are delighted that we will be constituting part of this joint venture. The combination of our strong brands will yield fine opportunities for growth and we will be even better able to serve our clients.”

The deal is subject to the approval of the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets and the advice of both works councils of Van Lanschot Chabot and Mandema & Partners, and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2016.
