Stichting Salvage can rescue you from a fire

Stichting Salvage helps the victims of losses due to fire, water or storms by diverting attention, taking action and providing advice. It does this on behalf of all fire insurers in the Netherlands. Within one hour after the fire service is called, Stichting Salvage will be on site and it does this 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The deployment of Stichting Salvage always occurs free of charge, even if a victim is not insured.

Stichting Salvage focuses on the following three aspects:

1) Attention – the provision of first aid and assistance. It adopts a uniform approach throughout the country and its salvage coordinators are recognised experts.

2) Action – to limit any loss and avoid any further suffering and damage. In this respect consider pumping away any water used to douse a fire, ceiling windows and doors or securing possessions.

3) Advice – a salvage coordinator will request the details of any insurance and will report any loss to the relevant insurer(s). The coordinator will advise you on any subsequent steps to be taken.
